Members in the Northwest area of Y-W Electric Service Territory, we currently have a pole testing contractor inspecting our poles in the Town of Akron, rural areas surrounding Akron, Platner area and west of the town of Otis. This is a process that we anticipate will take a few months most likely. This service is to determine the structural integrity of our poles. You may notice some digging around the poles and possibly at times some ribbon tied around the poles. We recognize that this process may be concerning to some folks. Our goal is to maintain our lines to help ensure system reliability to keep your power available as much as possible. You may notice workers around our poles on an ATV or see vehicles in the area with “contracted to Y-W Electric” badging. Please feel free to contact us with any concerns you may have.
